1. South Florida wildlife photographer Bobby Wummer is reminding residents to "use caution while out in the swamps and while fishing." He shared footage of a gator growling and added, "Alligators are extremely territorial and especially aggressive during mating season or while defending their young." (Miami Patch)

2. Healthy Start Coalition of Miami-Dade has named Jeannette Torres, MS, MHC, its next CEO. The organization "serves as part of a statewide network of community-based organizations aimed at reducing Florida's poor birth outcomes" and to "improve the lives of pregnant women, infants, and their families." Torres has years of experience working with the organization's late CEO, Manuel β€œManny” Fermin. (Miami's Community News)

3. The FBI has taken over the investigation in a reported abduction of multiple residents in Southwest Miami-Dade. Police said all the missing residents have been recovered. Police said the incident happened on Southwest 87th Place, off 48th Street. One woman was allegedly taken from her place of work at Domino's in broad daylight. (WSVN)

4. Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava held a briefing Friday on Tropical Depression Nine. South Florida is now in the cone of the strengthening storm, which could potentially become a major hurricane. Officials plan to lower water levels in South Florida canals ahead of any possible impact from the storm. (WPLG Local 10)

5. Hip-Hop Rapper Kanye West told a news network that he believes City of Miami Mayor Francis Suarez would make a good President of the United States. West ran unsuccessfully for President in the 2020 election. Suarez has not ruled out a potential future run for president. (CBS Miami)

  • Natalia Crujeiras has been selected after a six-month search as the new CEO and executive director at HistoryMiami Museum. Crujeiras is the first female leader to run the museum. (Miami Today)
  • A new "high design" apartment building is planned across from Midtown Miami by developer Cymbal DLT Companies. The new 203-unit development will be designed by Mexican architect Enrique Norten and accompanying Ten Arquitectos. (The Next Miami)
