Woman Dies After Driving Into Intracoastal Outside Restaurant
A woman was killed Saturday night when her car crossed over a curb and plunged into the Intracoastal Waterway.

BOYNTON BEACH, FL — A 36-year-old woman was killed Saturday night when her car crossed over a curb and plunged into the Intracoastal Waterway near the popular Two Georges Waterfront Grille.
"As the vehicle was sinking, officers and a bystander attempted to gain access into the vehicle, however, once the vehicle was fully submerged with water and the door was opened, it quickly sank to the bottom of the [Intracoastal Waterway] with the driver," according to Officer Jaclyn E. Smith of the Boynton Beach Police Department.
The woman was identified on Sunday as Lola Anne Thompson.

Smith said the woman's Jeep Grand Cherokee was heading east on Casa Loma Boulevard south access road at the time of the crash.
"The vehicle continued eastbound at Casa Loma south access road until the vehicle made a sharp right approximately 40 feet west of Two Georges building, going over the curb and plunging into the ICW," she said.

Thompson was taken to Bethesda Memorial Hospital by Boynton Beach police and Boynton Beach Fire Rescue personnel where she died.
