Woman Rescued From Canal Near Hard Rock Stadium
A woman became trapped in her Lexus SUV on Sunday afternoon when the vehicle plunged into a canal as football fans left Hard Rock Stadium.

MIAMI GARDENS, FL — A woman became trapped in her Lexus SUV on Sunday afternoon when the vehicle slammed into two other vehicles and a chain link fence before plunging into a canal as football fans left nearby Hard Rock stadium after the Miami Dolphins game.
Lt. Alex Camacho of Florida Highway Patrol said a number of police officers were already in the area around 4:30 p.m. at the time of the crash and rushed to help the woman.
"There was a lot of police presence in the area due to the Miami Dolphins football game at Hard Rock Stadium," he said. "FHP troopers immediately responded to the submerged vehicle, arriving within seconds."

Two FHP troppers, a Miami-Dade police officer and a Miami-Dade Fire Rescue diver jumped into the canal.
"Collectively they were able to free the driver ... and swim her to shore," Camacho explained. "Once on shore, MDFR personnel immediately began CPR on the woman."

He said the woman was taken to Aventura Hospital in critical condition.
It was not immediately clear what caused the crash.
