Backed by a $1.2 million city budget and an FDOT grant, the pilot will test demand along a future corridor from South Beach to North Beach while leaders seek broader regional funding support.
   

• Construction company CEO accused of stealing $80K compressor in South Beach surrenders, faces judge (wsvn.com) — Miami Beach police arrested a construction company CEO after a high-value compressor used at a local condo near Pennsylvania Avenue and 16th Street was taken and later recovered in Virginia Gardens. The equipment was tied to ongoing concrete restoration work, and the case reportedly stems from a long-running parking dispute with the condo association. The suspect faces grand theft and criminal mischief charges and appeared in bond court Thursday.
   

• Miami-Dade activists demand end to violence against sex workers. Weekend rally planned (wlrn.org) — An activist coalition is planning a Saturday evening rally at South Pointe Park in Miami Beach to spotlight violence against sex workers and call for decriminalization. Organizers say changing the law would improve safety, health access, and legal protections. The free event, part of the annual “Slut Walk Miami,” is timed around the International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers.
