Construction company CEO accused of stealing $80K compressor in South Beach bonds out of jail (wsvn.com) — Miami Beach police say a construction company CEO is facing grand theft and criminal mischief charges after an $80,000 concrete compressor disappeared from a condo job site near Pennsylvania Avenue and 16th Street and was later recovered. The suspect, who also owns a unit in that building, turned himself in, appeared in court, and was released without paying bond while the case continues.

Police charged him with misdemeanor criminal mischief, and he later described his night in Miami jail as harsh but now frames the entire encounter as part of his artwork and critique of authority.

Camryn Magness, singer who toured with One Direction, dies after Miami Beach scooter crash (nbcmiami.com) — A 26-year-old singer who once toured with One Direction has died from injuries after an electric scooter crash in Miami Beach near the Venetian Causeway and East San Marino Drive. Police say she was a passenger when the scooter hit a pedestrian, and all involved were seriously hurt and taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where she later passed away.
