5 Things You Should Know Today, March 7
We got big news on the Hacienda redevelopment proposal

1. It will likely be partly cloudy today with highs in the upper 80s.
2 . The effort to redevelop the Hacienda Hotel in downtown New Port Richey has hit a new roadblock. Legal review has found that a proposed expansion into Sims Park west of the hotel could encounter problems due to restrictions on how that section of the park can be developed or used.
City Manager John Schneiger put it pretty simply: " We have found that we can't go forward, and we have to look at other options."
The property's potential developer has been informed, and the city is looking to hear back from them and what they propose to do.
