5 Things You Should Know Today, Sept. 13

1.     It will be a sunny today, with temperatures reaching a high near 89.

2.     The New Port Richey City Council meets for a work session tomorrow at 6 p.m. at City Hall. Among issues to be discussed? Ideas  for how to attack a bad budget, charging for parking at Sims Park Boat Ramp, discussion on whether to hire code enforcement officers and/or an and a proposed animal control program that uses volunteers.

3.     Free Movie Fridays return to Sims Park this week. This Friday’s movie? Bizarre, hilarious western “Rango,” starring Johnny Depp as a chameleon. The movie runs from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. It’s sponsored by the City of New Port Richey and its Cultural Affairs Advisory Committee
