Bicyclist, 50, Seriously Injured In Hit-And-Run
A New Port Richey man was seriously injured in a Tuesday night hit-and-run crash on Fivay Road.

HUDSON, FL — The Florida Highway Patrol is asking for help identifying a motorist involved in a Tuesday night hit-and-run crash that left a 50-year-old New Port Richey man with serious injuries.
According to the patrol, Keith Dawson was riding a bicycle west on the north shoulder of Fivay Road around 7:12 p.m. March 7. As Dawson traveled west of Library Road, an unidentified car was also heading west on Fivay.
Troopers say the vehicle passed Dawson, sideswiped him and then took off from the scene. Dawson’s bike was pushed off the road and forced into a wooden bench on the north shoulder of the roadway.

The vehicle is described as a light color passenger car. It has damage to its front right and possibly its passenger side, according to the patrol.
Dawson was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries after the crash.
