City Moves Forward With Walden Pond Lien Hearing
çNew Port Richey City Council members agreed Tuesday July 2 to deny a request to delay a hearing at which they will consider imposing a lien on Walden Pond Mobile Home Park.

New Port Richey City Council members agreed Tuesday July 2 to deny a request to delay a hearing at which they will consider imposing a lien on Walden Pond Mobile Home Park.
The mobile home parks owners owe the city more than $155,000. That figure includes the cost the city paid to clean up a mess at the property, unpaid utility bills and other expenses.
The attorney representing Walden Pond's owners had requested the city delay a July 9 hearing at which the city council will consider imposing a lien to try and recoup expenses. The property is currently going through foreclosure proceedings and its owners want to reach a settlement with the city.
The New Port Richey City Attorney recommended the city council not delay the July 9 meeting. All four council members present Tuesday voted to deny Walden Pond attorney's request to delay the lien hearing.
The hearing will be held July 9 as planned.
