TRINITY, FL — A Trinity man threatening to kill himself has been hospitalized with a gunshot wound.
The Pasco County sheriff's office has been vague on the details of how the man was injured.
According to the sheriff's report, on Tuesday at 6:20 p.m., deputies were called to the Fox Wood neighborhood in Trinity for a suicide attempt in progress with gunfire heard from a home.

The sheriff's office said, based on the preliminary investigation, a man injured himself with a self-inflicted gunshot. A deputy then confronted the man and fired his weapon. It's unclear whether the man's injury was self-inflicted or the result of the deputy firing his weapon.
Medical care was given at the scene before the man was taken to the hospital.
