NEW PORT RICHEY, FL — Pasco County Utilities shut down a "raw well" in the Gulf Harbor/Lindrick community of New Port Richey Monday afternoon following test results showing the presence of E. coli.
The well was immediately shut down, and water to the community of approximately 3,100 customers is being supplied from other wells that tested negative for E.coli. Therefore, water is safe to drink. There is no need for customers in this area to boil their water.
Pasco County Utilities anticipates having the problem solved within the next 12 hours, and customers will not experience an interruption in water service.
