Fake Veterinarian Operated On Pregnant Dog That Died

A man who pretended to be a veterinarian faces charges after operating on a pregnant dog who later died, authorities said. Sugar, a 6-year-old, six-pound chihuahua, died following an illicit surgery performed by a licensed pet groomer, not a licensed veterinarian.

‘Very Rare’ Beaked Whale Found Dead

A “very rare” beaked whale was found dead in the Florida Keys, Dolphins Plus Marine Mammal Responder said. A responder found a large animal grounded in the shallow sand flats at Tavernier Island. The species ois seldom seen outside of deep water.

The FBI and police are working together to crack down on sextortion of “a highly vulnerable group of victims: young boys,” according to police. Earlier this year, the agency saw a significant increase in cases where young victims are befriended on social media and dating apps and asked to share nude photos.

Man Gets Prison Time For Charging Police In Jan. 6 Riot

A man was sentenced to 18 months in prison after authorities said he stormed the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, charged a police line, and stole a riot shield he then kept as a souvenir. Joshua Christopher Doolin, 25, was convicted of numerous charges in March, including civil disorder, entering a restricted building, disorderly conduct and theft of government property. A federal judge also sentenced him to 36 months of supervised release.

Rays’ Wander Franco Accused Of Relationships With 2 Underage Girls

The Tampa Bay Rays placed shortstop Wander Franco on the team’s restricted list as he faces allegations of relationships with two underage girls. Social media posts accused the 22-year-old of having a physical relationship with a girl in the Dominican Republic who was under the age of 18, which is the country’s age of consent, Forbes reported.

4 More Locally-Acquired Dengue Cases Reported In FL: Officials

The state Department of Health reported four more cases of locally-acquired dengue in South Florida, prompting officials to issue an alert reminding residents about the dangers of mosquito-borne illnesses.
