Trinity Crash Kills Motorcyclist, Seriously Injures 75-Year-Old

The crash set both vehicles aflame.

The motorcyclist who was ejected from his bike and killed after a car struck it Wednesday afternoon at Trinity and Tamarind Blvds was not wearing a helmet, say Florida Highway Patrol troopers.

The crash set the 2008 Honda Accord sedan and the Boss Hoss motorcycle aflame and shut down traffic on part of Trinity Blvd for more than two hours. The driver of the car, Loraine Manning, 75, of Randolph, New Jersey, was taken to Community Hospital with serious injuries. The motorcyclist has not been identified.

Troopers say Manning had been driving east on Trinity Blvd Wednesday afternoon. The motorcyclist had been driving west on Trinity.  As Manning turned north onto Tamarind from the left turn lane, she failed to yield the right of way to the motorcyclist, troopers say. She drove in front of the motorcycle, and her car collided with its front end. The motorcyclist, a male, was ejected into the westbound lane.
