Fourth Of July Fireworks On Main Street This Saturday

The Friendly KIAFest Main Street Blast, an Independence day-themed event, returns to downtown New Port Richey this weekend, and planners intend to bring the boom with fireworks and the tunes with live music.

Look at the sky above Sims Park on Saturday, June 29, and you could see fireworks.

The Friendly KIAFest Main Street Blast, an Independence Day-themed event, returns to downtown New Port Richey this weekend, and planners intend to bring the boom with fireworks and the tunes with live music. 

Greater New Port Richey Main Street, a nonprofit organization that seeks downtown revitalization in New Port Richey, is producing the event.

The festival will be hosted in the park June 28 and 29.  The fun starts with a concert event Friday, June 27, that is headlined by The Black Honkeys. The Friday night event runs from 5 to 11 p.m. 

Saturday’s event runs from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.  The festival will include a children's area with bounce house, an Arts and Crafts show, a Classic Car cruise-in hosted by Smith Collision, boat tours of the Pithlachascotee River aboard the Miss Daisy. Live music starts at 1 p.m.  The Saturday concert is headlined by Head Games -The Foreigner Tribute.

And Saturday’s event is capped by a plan to set off fireworks after dark. The caveat is that the fireworks will only go off if weather and conditions permit.

Sims Park is located in New Port Richey, on the west side of Bank Street.

The event is free to attend.
