Five Things You Should Know Today

1.     The is leading the Cotee River Clean-up today. You probably use the Pithlachascotee River or visit it frequently. Now’s your chance to keep it beautiful for everyone else. The clean-up begins Saturday at 8 a.m. at the Sims Park Boat Ramp.

2.     The New Port Richey Youth Advisory Board is planting flowers at Orange Lake Saturday at 9 a.m.

3.     There’s a 20 percent chance we could see some rain today, according to the National Weather Service. Temperatures could reach highs in the 80s during this partly cloudy day.

4.     It’s Free Movie Friday at Sims Park, the last until fall. Tonight ‘s featured film is Wall-E. Ecology Florida and Bill’s Bees will be present before the movie starts. The event, planned by the New Port Richey Cultural Affairs Advisory Committee, begins at 7:30 p.m. The movie begins when it gets dark.
