Five Things You Should Know Today

You did your taxes (hopefully), but government isn't through with you yet.

1.     Pasco County has been looking for ways to in the county budget.  A town hall-style meeting to discuss the subject was held in New Port Richey last night. But you can still weigh in online here.

2.     The New Port Richey City Council meets tonight at 7 p.m. at City Hall. , former deputy mayor and parks and recreation director, will start his term as mayor by taking the Oath of Office.

3.     Want other reasons not to miss the meeting? OK. The first drafts of the city’s aggressive panhandling ordinance and an ordinance creating a registry of vacant, abandoned and foreclosed properties are on the agenda.

4.     Pasco County Commissioners will take public comment on the choice of whether to temporarily reduce impact fees for schools and then vote on the issue today. The public discussion starts at 1:30 p.m. at the , 7530 Little Road.
