Five Things You Should Know Today

Here are five ways to make it through your day

1.     New Port Richey Patch is continuing its limited series on hikes you can take in New Port Richey and nearby. Join Andy Harrison as he meets a cottonmouth at Brooker Creek Preserve in Tarpon Spring.

2. Join a telephone town hall meeting today hosted by the Tampa Bay Regional Transportation Authority. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. Between 40,000 and 80,000 Pasco residents at random tonight will be called to take part in the town hall meeting. However, anyone can call 1-888-886-6603, ext. 16192, to get involved.

3. West Pasco Habitat for Humanity is screening "2012: Time for Change," which predicts that the year popular culture believes will bring the apocalypse will actually bring positive change. The movie begins at 8 p.m. at  Habitat at 4131 Madison St, New Port Richey.

4. We’re in for a mostly sunny day according to the National Weather Service. Temperatures will reach a high of 82. Expect the north winds to reach speeds of 3 to 6 miles per hour.
