1. We’re in for heat and a chance of rain this weekend. The National Weather Service fore casts a 30 percent chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m. Otherwise, it will be mostly sunny with temperatures reaching near 90, but the heat index says it could feel as hot as 97.

3. Kyrja, a local author and elemental witch, will be signing and selling copies "Rupert's Tales: The Wheel of the Year", the story of a rabbit learning about paganism, at the Progess Energy Art Gallery Saturday from 1 p.m.–2 p.m. Check out here event posting here.

5. The New Port Richey City Council is meeting for an eight-hour retreat June 18 to discuss setting a 20-year vision for the city. This will include setting core values, guiding principles and an unattainable core purpose meant to motivate them. The meeting is open to the public and will start at 8 a.m. in Peace Hall at 6431 Circle Boulevard.
