FL Landscaper Stung By Hundreds Of Bees While On Mower: Fire Rescue

SPRING HILL, FL — A landscape maintenance technician was stung by hundreds of bees while riding a mower at a Spring HIll property Tuesday, Hernando County Fire Rescue wrote in a Facebook post. (Watch a video of the mower being secured by a firefighter below.)

The worker jumped off the mower to safety and was brought to a local hospital by a fire rescue crew.

One of the firefighters geared up to retrieve the out-of-control mower and the crew secured it while the patient was at the hospital, the agency said.

The agency’s Venom Unit also responded to the scene and found the large colony of bees, which will be relocated.

“Bee colonies like this can be deadly even to individuals who are not allergic to insect stings,” HCFR wrote.
