FL Student Arrested After Bringing Gun To Middle School: Sheriff
The Pasco County Sheriff's Office found a handgun in a student's backpack at Pine View Middle School in Land O' Lakes.
LAND O' LAKES, FL — A student at Pine View Middle School, 5334 Parkway Blvd., Land O' Lakes, was arrested Tuesday after police say he brought a gun to school.
Deputies found a handgun in the student's backpack while investigating a report of a gun on campus. Another student reported the gun after hearing the other student talking about it, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.
No students or staff were hurt, and the student made no threats.

As a precaution, the sheriff's office increased security at the school for the rest of the day.
The student with the gun was charged with possession of a firearm on school grounds.
