Flood Warning Issued For Parts Of Pasco, Hernando Counties: NWS
The Withlacoochee River continues to flood in Pasco, Hernando counties after Hurricane Debby brought heavy rains to FL, forecasters said.
PASCO COUNTY, FL - The National Weather Service issued a flood warning for areas in Pasco and Hernando counties along the Withlacoochee River.
Minor flooding is expected near US 301 and Trilby Road, the agency said.
The minor flood stage for that area is 12 feet, according to the National Water Prediction Service. The water levels there were about 12.1 feet Thursday.

The river is forecast to crest at about 12.3 feet early Sunday into Monday morning, forecasters said.
The Withlacoochee was less than 1 feet deep in July and has risen significantly since Hurricane Debbie hit Florida earlier this month, WFLA reported.

Drivers who encounter flooded areas should “turn around, don’t drown” rather than try to drive through them, the NWS said. “Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.”
