2017 Sugar Sand Festival: What To Know Before You Go

Clearwater Beach will be celebrating its most famous attraction: The white sand that makes it one of the top beaches in the world. The Pier 60 Sugar Sand Festival features one of the Bay area’s largest sand sculpture exhibits and competitions, along with live music, movies and other entertainment. The 10-day event, part of Sun 'n Fun Clearwater, draws more than 100,000 people to enjoy the white, sandy beach and free events.

Miami Boat Rescue: 2 Cling To Capsized Vessel

Two men were found clinging to the side of their 21-foot boat on April 10 when the vessel capsized in a rough current. According to Erika Benitez of Miami-Dade Fire Resuce, the 21-foot center console vessel capsized after its engine stalled and the strong current flipped it over, leaving both men struggling in the water. The incident occurred about 10:30 a.m. a couple of miles from Crandon Marina.

The store buys and sells gently used clothing, shoes, handbags and accessories, among other items.

5 Possible Arsons Under Investigation In Holiday

As Pasco County Fire Rescue and sheriff's deputies investigate a string of suspicious fires in the Holiday area, authorities are asking anyone with information about the spree to come forward. According to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, five fires have been set behind homes in Holiday throughout the past week. The first four fires were all found behind homes on Marissa Place.

Starkey Wilderness Park Closed, Evacuated

Pasco County residents with plans to visit Jay B. Starkey Wilderness Park will need to find another place to enjoy the great outdoors until further notice; the county announced April 12 that the park was being evacuated and closed until further notice. The 10500 Wilderness Park Road facility is being impacted by wildfires that are continuing to burn within the county. One of those fires broke out in the park’s Serenova Tract on April 10.
