Former Police Chief Promoted to Sheriff's Second-in-Command
Jeff Harrington is taking over for Col. Brian Head, who retired from the Sheriff's Office recently.

Former New Port Richey Police Chief Jeff Harrington is moving up in the ranks at the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office.
The Sheriff’s Office announced Friday, July 26, that Harrington has been promoted to Colonel, the second-in-command role at the agency.
Harrington is filling the spot left vacant by Brian Head. The Sheriff’s Office announced earlier this week that Head had retired from the job.
In October 2011, Harrington left the New Port Richey Police Department, where he racked up about 18 years experience collectively, to join the Sheriff’s Office as a Major and head of its Patrol Operations Bureau.
Harrington wasn’t the only Sheriff's Office employee being moved to a new job.
The Sheriff’s Office announced that Capt. John Corbin would replace Harrington as Major of the Law Enforcement bureau and Lt. Brett Landsberg would be promoted to captain of special operations.
The employees' new roles take effect July 29.
