Grandson Bilked Grandma Out Of $7,000, Deputies Say

A 26-year-old New Port Richey man is accused of stealing more than $7,000 from his grandmother.

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL — A 26-year-old New Port Richey man faces criminal charges after Pasco County Sheriff’s deputies say he swiped his grandmother’s credit card nearly three dozen times over the past few months. All told, he's accused of racking up more than $7,000 in unauthorized charges.

According to the sheriff’s office, Bryan Keene was arrested on scheme to defraud charges after an investigation revealed unauthorized use of his grandmother’s credit card between January and March 2017.

“Keene purchased items such as a vehicle, and even went to a deli with 5 of his friends, buying them food for $135,” a Tuesday morning email from the sheriff’s office said.

Keene was booked into the Land O’ Lakes Jail on March 1. His arrest was announced March 7. According to jail records, Keene was later released in lieu of $5,000 bond.

Jail records indicate Keene has been arrested in Pasco County several times in the past. Previous charges include carrying a concealed firearm and credit card fraud.
