Harley Is Newest Member Of Pasco Sheriff's K-9 Unit

PASCO COUNTY, FL — The Pasco County Sheriff's Office has announced the newest edition to its cadre of K-9s.

K-9 Harley is a Belgian Malinois/German shepherd cross born in Hungary on July 22, 2021. He began working for the sheriff's office in February and is currently assigned to the Highway Interdiction Team as a single-purpose narcotics detection K-9.

In this role, he helps keep dangerous drugs from moving throughout Pasco County.

K-9 Harley is a tall and energetic boy, who loves being close to his partner at home. He also loves squeaky toys in particular. Funds for K-9 Harley were donated by the Del Webb Bexley community.

Pasco Sheriff's Explorers Tahoe Need Your Vote

The Pasco County Sheriff's Office’s Explorer Post 916 Tahoe is in the running for the 2023 Florida Sheriffs Association’s Law Enforcement Vehicle Graphics Contest.

Residents can vote through Friday at 5 p.m. for the Pasco Explorers by clicking here and “liking” the photo. Winners receive a plaque and special recognition at the 2023 FSA Executive Leadership Conference & Fleet Exhibition.

In addition to being a normal patrol vehicle for the sheriff's office, this Tahoe helps recruit new members to Explorer Post 916, which earned a state championship at the Florida Association of Police Explorers in July.

Explorer Post 916 provides a well-rounded program for teens and young adults between the ages of 14 and 21 to build important life skills while providing volunteer opportunities. The post has three branches, focusing on law enforcement, forensics and drones/unmanned aerial systems.
