Hurricane Idalia Storm Debris To Be Removed By New Port Richey Starting Sept. 11
The city of New Port Richey Public Works Department will begin picking up storm and flood debris from Hurricane Idalia on Sept. 11.

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL — The city of New Port Richey Public Works Department will begin picking up storm and flood debris from Hurricane Idalia for city residents who live west of U.S. 19 and along the Cotee River who have verified flooding damage with the city’s development department at 727-853-1047 beginning on Monday, Sept. 11.
Affected residents do not need to schedule debris pickup. Crews will be making one pass down each city street over the next several weeks from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day.
All discarded items and debris must be separated and placed into the following piles:

- Household garbage
- Construction debris*
- Vegetation debris
- Household hazardous waste
- White goods
- Electronics
*Contractor-generated construction debris will not be collected.
When placing items at the curb, be sure to not block the roadway and use care to not block fire hydrants, mailboxes, electrical boxes or any other structures.

Do not place debris in bags, and make sure appliances are empty, with the doors secured or removed. Please see the illustration below for reference.
