Local Business owner Barry Crites has started blogging to give folks a peek into life in New Port Richey. Check out his blog post pasted below :
"I discovered New Port Richey eight years ago and moved here from the north shore of Massachusetts. I was quickly enamoured with this treasure of history, people , nature and architecture. My partner and I opened a salon and barber shop in the old Arcade building on Main street and instantly committed to being a part of the city. We also bought a house in an older suddivision of unincorporated NPR.
From the beginning I had lots of locals telling me stories of disfunction and abuse and how this city could never quite move ahead. Even suggesting that me and my partner would probably fail too. Wow!!! My friends tell me I tend to see potential in all things, but I have to say folks "this one ain't rocket science". Let's do the math. A historical area with character and buildings out the wassu. Steady traffic from 19 to Rowan on Main Street. A river running straight through town which connects to the OCEAN!!! Add in the amazing talent and organizations around here and wow, you have the potential for AMAZING!!! This is what I will be bloging about. Let's take a look at it and see if we can't create some cohesion here. :)"
