Jury Selection Begins In Pasco Quadruple Murder Trial

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL - The first-degree murder trial of Adam Matos, accused of four murders in 2014, begins this week in Pasco County. Matos, 31, is accused of killing his ex-girlfriend Megan Brown, her parents and Brown’s boyfriend. Matos took the bodies to a rural location in Hudson, where deputies found them.

Matos stayed at the Brown’s home with his son for days and sold the family’s dogs on Craigslist. The boy was the child of Matos and Megan Brown. Matos left the Hudson home in an attempt to leave the area, but was captured at the Floridan Hotel in downtown Tampa.

About 200 people were called to the courthouse in New Port Richey for jury selection on Monday. They were questioned about their knowledge of the case and whether they could serve if selected.

The trial is expected to last until Nov. 22, Judge Mary Handsel said in court, News Channel 8 reported.
