Keep Your Little Ghouls And Goblins Safe This Halloween
The Pasco County Sheriff's Office offers tips on keeping trick-or-treaters safe.
PASCO COUNTY, FL — As trick-or-treaters hit the neighborhood streets starting around 6 p.m. Monday night in search of treats, the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office wants to ensure kids stay safe, without any spooks or scares, this Halloween by offering the following tips:
- Remove objects that could be dangerous in the dark such as hoses, lawn decorations, toys and overgrown landscaping.
- Avoid decorating pathways with candles; opt for flameless candles instead.
- Drivers should use extra caution when traveling in residential communities.
- Trick-or-treaters should stay on the sidewalks and should not dart into roads or between vehicles.
- Add reflective tape or glow sticks to accessorize costumes while adding increased visibility.
- Parents and guardians should always check candy to look for evidence of tampering. If candy looks questionable, discard it immediately.
