PASCO COUNTY, FL — Without community leaders, New Port Richey wouldn’t hum along nearly as smoothly as it does. We’d miss their contributions in big and small ways.

Patch has partnered with T-Mobile to recognize these often unsung community leaders and celebrate their contributions.

This submission comes from Ann James, a West Pasco Historical Society reader who nominated Robert Langford.

How do you know this community leader?

He is president of the local museum BOD and several other non-profits in West Pasco County

What does this community leader do?

He has volunteered his time for over 20 years on many non-profits that preserve history, help families, elderly and children. He is also president of Pasco Fine Arts and the New Port Richey Fireman’s Pension Board. He was deputy mayor for 2 years and on City Council for 9 years.

Why do you believe the community leader should be recognized or honored?

He is 81 and still going strong in his commitment to help his community.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the community hero?

He started his career as a local singer in his band and moved into recording and engineering music. He has worked with many of the great entertainers in the music industries in the '60s, '70s and '80s. He is a very kind and humble man.
