Man Accused of Hitting, Strangling Pregnant Woman
Douglas Horace was charged with multiple offenses, including hitting and choking a woman and threatening an officer.

A Pasco man has been accused of hitting and strangling his pregnant girlfriend.
According to an arrest report, a New Richey police offer arrived at the scene of a fight in progress at 6606 Trichel Lane on Tuesday, July 9, and saw Douglas Horace, 31, hit a woman.
The officer saw Horace flee and then saw him with a pool stick. The officer challenged Horace with his firearm and told him to “drop the stick.” Horace did so only after several orders, according to the report.
Horace was taken into custody. The woman told the officer she and Horace were being evicted that day from the apartment they shared, and she and Horace had argued. Horace had then grabbed and choked her. She said she tried to leave the scene, but Horace wouldn’t allow it.
When Horace was told his charges, he told an officer it was fabricated. The report says Horace asked the officer’s home address so that he could “finish (the officer) off.” He pointed to teardrop tattoos under his eyes and said he had them because he killed “ain’t been caught.”
Horace was charged with aggravated battery of a pregnant female, battery by strangulation, kid napping and threatening a public servant. He remained in the Land O’ Lakes jail Wednesday in lieu of $200,000.
