Man Arrested for Stabbing Woman with Tiki Torch

He then stood and punched himself in the head, according to the sheriff's office.

A Holiday woman was sitting on her front porch Thursday when she noticed a man snooping around her property saying, "You can't put me in the group with the people I live with," according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.

After asking him to leave several times, the man, Harry William Bruder, became upset and started to "get in her face," an incident report stated.

When the woman's husband came out of the residence and pushed Bruder away from his wife, Bruder grabbed a tiki torch from the yard and and tried to stab him with it, the report stated. The bottom of the tiki torch was "very sharp and could cause great bodily harm," the report noted.

Bruder missed and swung again, this time stabbing the woman in the stomach, leaving a half-inch gash on her abdomen, according to the report.

The couple was then able to get Bruder to the end of the driveway, where he stood and punched himself in the head multiple times while uttering obscenities, the report stated.

An independent witness, who had dropped by "to say 'Hi'" to the woman before Bruder arrived, told a responding deputy that he "walked off for cover" when the two started arguing, but did see Bruder "pick up the tiki torch and try to hit everyone with it," according to the report.

After Bruder was arrested, he told the deputy "I am going to make it hell for you guys as soon as we get there," the report stated.

Bruder, 36 of 2540 Limewood Drive, was charged with aggravated battery and aggravated assault. He remained in the Land O' Lakes jail Friday in lieu of $15,000 bond.
