Motorcyclist Dies in Traffic Incident
Joseph Fornieri died after his motorcycle overturned and he and the bike collided into another vehicle.

A New Port Richey man was killed in a traffic incident Wednesday at the intersection of Decubellis Road and Tanglewood Drive.
Joseph Fornieri, 20, was driving his Yamaha R6 motorcycle west on Decubellis ] on Wednesday as he approached the road’s intersection of Tanglewood Drive, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. He passed a vehicle in the westbound lane and then re-entered that lane.
An east bound Hyundai Sonata driven by 79-year-old Gaines Blankenship, started a left turn onto Tanglewood Drive crossed Fornieri’s path. Fornieri hit the brakes, and the bike overturned. He and the bike then hit the Sonata on the Sonata's right side .

The collision caused the Sonata to rotate and pushed it northwest, according to the Highway Patrol. It's rearleft side hit a stop sign, and the vehicle came to rest.
A van behind the Sonata stopped short of hitting Sonata, but its front was damaged by debris from the bike.

Blankenship and the driver of the van were uninjured.
Fornieri died at the scene, according to authorities. The incident is still under investigation.
