New Port Richey Motorcyclist Critically Injured in Crash

A New Port Richey motorcyclist was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after he lost control of his bike at Trouble Creek and Rowan roads Tuesday night, Florida Highway Patrol troopers say.
Thomas Micklo, 45, was riding his 2006 Suzuki motorcycle east on Trouble Creek Road at high speed at 7:33 p.m. when he lost control while navigating a left curve, troopers say. The bike traveled onto the grass shoulder on the south side of Trouble Creek Road and struck a raised water pipe.
Micklo was ejected and struck a raised concrete curb. His bike slid east and came to rest atop him.

Micklo, who had not been wearing a helmet, was airlifted to Bayfront Medical Center. The incident is still under investigation.
