New Port Richey Website Gets New Look

 The City of New Port Richey has rolled out a revamped website that delivers a new look while taking advantage of some social media resources.

The new, colorful website features a rotating background of images that show off the city's assets, like the Recreation and Aquatic Center and parks along the Pithlachascotee River. It replaces a static-looking site that many would describe as antiquated. The updated look went live Friday.

"I am so pleased with the new website," said Councilwoman Judy DeBella Thomas.

The new site also offers some features that residents are likely to find useful. They include links to the city's new Facebook, Twitter and YouTube accounts, dropdown tabs that reveal links to city departments, services and information.

“We tried to make it more foward-facing to the public, to the business community, to our residents,” said Clark Jones, director of I.T.C. for the city.

There are five drop down tabs below the masthead that take visitors to different pages.

The “Community” tab includes:

• pages about New Port Richey
• the city’s Animal Protection Unit
• city boards and committees

The “Open for Business” tab reveals:

• pages about doing business in the city
• pages about bid postings
• economic development
• links for businesses
• the city residential rental program
• building services
• the business tax
• planning and zoning information
• special event applications

The “City Departments” tab reveals:

• links to the pages of the various city departmentsofficials and the services the departments provide.

The “Visitors” tab reveals:

• links for maps
• directions on how to get the city
• events
• info on parks and facilities.

The “How Do I?” tab reveals:

• instructions on how to access online services
• apply for jobs
• utility services
• business licenses
• business permits
• pay utility bills
