New Port Richey Woman Killed in Hit-And-Run

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the death of a pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle on Grand Boulevard early Wednesday morning.
Deborah Wesson Bobek, 49, of New Port Richey, was walking north on the east edge of Grand Boulevard south of Sunshine Park Drive shortly after 5 a.m. Wednesday, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.
There are no streetlights on that stretch of road, but there is ambient lighting from businesses.

A vehicle struck Bobek from behind as it was traveling north, according to troopers. Bobek was thrown into the road, where she died from her injuries, according to the report.
The vehicle fled the scene, according to the report. The highway patrol does not have a description of the vehicle or the driver.
