A Palm Harbor teen was involved in a crash Sunday evening in New Port Richey that sent a Pasco County Sheriff's Deputy to the hospital.

Investigators with the Florida Highway Patrol say Tina Marie Sturm, 19, of Palm Harbor was headed south on Magnolia Valley Drive at about 6:54 p.m. when she drove into the path of a Pasco County Sheriff's Office cruiser driven by Deputy Raymond Williamson, 28, of New Port Richey.

Williamson was driving west on Massachusetts when the vehicles collided in the intersection.

The impact of the crash caused Sturm's 2005 Jeep Wrangler to spin and then land on its side.

Deputy Williamson was transported to Medical Center of Trinity. No information was released about his injuries.

Sturm was cited for failure to yield to oncoming traffic.
