Pasco-Hernando State College Welcomes New Administrators

PASCO COUNTY, FL — Pasco-Hernando State College has announced new members of the academic affairs department.

"PHSC is pleased to have recruited such a fine caliber of administrative talent to the academic affairs team. We look forward to witnessing their individual and collective endeavors in support of our faculty and outstanding programmatic outcomes for students," said Stanley Giannet, executive vice president, chief academic officer and college provost.

The dean of institutional effectiveness is Dr. Yongmei Li. She has 10 years of experience in institutional research and assessment. She has written, participated and assisted in all levels of higher education accreditation including monitoring reports, compliance certifications, QEP reporting and fifth-year interim reports.

She has developed, led and trained in data collection and assessment for all units such as academics, facilities, student services, library, and student and program learning outcomes at two institutions, Converse University and Shaw University.

Li holds a doctorate in education and a master's in educational psychology, measurement and evaluation from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill; a master's of education in language and literacy dducation from Texas Tech University; and a bachelor's in English from Ocean University of China.

The new associate dean of nursing is Kelly McAdams. She holds a doctorate in nursing education from Capella University; a master's in nursing education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania; a bachelor's from Jacksonville University; and a bachelor of science degree in dietetics from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Her work experience includes her most recent role as a program director at Keiser University in Clearwater, where she successfully led the nursing program in accreditation, and as nursing program chairwoman at Mount Aloysius College in addition to faculty teaching experience.

She has an extensive work history in nursing education in various roles since 2007, as faculty, program director and department chair. She has experience with the nursing accreditation process and is a strong advocate for faculty and students as well as eight years of bedside nursing experience.

The new director of dual enrollment is Laura Raposa. Raposa has worked at PHSC for 14 years with experience in the areas of financial aid at a private institution, student affairs at both West Campus and Porter Campus, financial and student life, and leadership at the Porter Campus.

She has held positions as an adviser at the West Campus and Porter Campus.

Raposa is a member of Leadership Pasco and has highlighted PHSC and its workforce programs to regional partners. She holds a master's in business management from Hodges University and a bachelor of science in business management from the University of West Florida, and is a product of the PHSC dual enrollment program.

Dr. Joseph Heinzman joins PHSC as the new director of apprenticeship. Heinzman has a bachelor's degree in political science and accounting from Weber State University in Ogden, Utah, a master's of business administration from Florida Institute of Technology and a doctor of business administration from The Huizenga School at Nova Southeastern University.

His work experience started at Armstrong World Industries as an accountant and culminated as a business manager in aerospace, retiring from Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control in Orlando following 24 years of service.

Heinzman created internships with multiple organizations in health care management, business management and information technology programs. He solicited the participation of tech firms, hospitals and businesses.

Dr. Christopher Brantley is the assistant dean of workforce development and career technical education. Brantley was the CTE program coordinator and computer applications instructor with Pasco County Schools.

He worked for the school district for 18 years. As a CTE program coordinator, he supported the following secondary programs across the district: Engineering Pathways, Applied Robotics, Criminal Justice Operations, Fire Fighting, Allied Cybersecurity, Electricity, A/C, Refrigeration, and Heating Technology, Welding and Jr. ROTC.

He has a doctorate in educational leadership from Liberty University; an education specialist degree in educational leadership from Liberty University, a master's of education degree from National-Louis University; a bachelor of arts degree from St. Andrews Presbyterian College; and an associate of science degree from the Community College of the Air Force.

He served in the United States Air Force in support of Operation Desert Shield/Storm. Brantley was also a Total Quality Management instructor and facilitator for the Air Force.
