Precautionary Boil Water Notice Canceled In Port Richey
The bacteriological survey showing that the water is safe to drink has been completed.

UPDATE: The precautionary boil water notice issued on Friday, Feb. 2 for Port Richey Utility customers has been rescinded. The utility repairs have been completed and satisfactory completion of the bacteriological survey showing that the water is safe to drink has been completed.
PORT RICHEY, FL - Port Richey officials are issuing a precautionary boil water notice because of a treatment system filter malfunction Thursday night. City officials said water has been tested and meets water quality standards but may be "aesthetically displeasing."
They say the problem has been corrected and system flushing is being conducted. As a precaution, when service returns - officials advise that all water used for drinking or cooking be boiled. A rolling boil of one minute is sufficient. Bottled water can be used as an alternative, officials said.

The boil water notice is generally in effect for three working days beginning the day the pressure is lost, officials said.
