Saint Leo To Offer Development Training To McLaughlin HS Teachers
The Center for Alternative Pathway Program partnered with the university to provide professional development sessions for teachers.
PASCO COUNTY, FL — Saint Leo University’s East Pasco Education Center and the Center for Alternative Pathway Program partnered on Tuesday, March 15, to provide professional development sessions for teachers at Bishop McLaughlin Catholic High School in Pasco County.
The first two topics focused on conflict reduction and resolution techniques, as well as tools for effective parent-teacher relationships. The instructor for the sessions was Mary Owens, who is well-known in the greater Tampa Bay area for her facilitation and business-coaching skills.
The Center for Alternative Pathway Programs at Saint Leo University offers continuing professional development courses for working adults. These courses are offered in an online format and, more recently in collaboration with the university’s East Pasco Education Center, CAPP offers in-person, customized professional development sessions to meet the unique needs of businesses and organizations in Pasco and Hernando counties.

Dr. Cindy Lee, director of CAPP, and Matthew Lenihan, director of the East Pasco Education Center, are committed to aligning Saint Leo University’s professional development opportunities with the client’s request for services. The model increases market awareness of Saint Leo, expands local partnerships, generates revenue and promotes the vision and mission of the university.
The Center for Alternative Pathway Programs provides an alternate approach to continuing education and professional development and offers cutting-edge, real-world credentials that are in demand and add value to a person’s career path.

Saint Leo’s East Pasco Education Center is housed at University Campus in Saint Edward Hall, 33701 State Road 52, St. Leo. The center also includes locations at Pasco-Hernando State College in Spring Hill, Brooksville and New Port Richey.
The East Pasco Education Center serves adult learners in Pasco and Hernando counties who want to enhance their educational credentials. The center offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs for aspiring professionals to consider. Courses are taught using a variety of delivery methods that allow flexibility for working professionals.
