Sample Ballots Available For General Election In Pasco County

Voters should take their completed sample ballots with them when voting early or on election day.

PASCO COUNTY, FL — Pasco County Supervisor of Elections Brian E. Corley announced that sample ballots for the Nov. 8 general election are now available online at PascoVotes.gov, and have been mailed to all registered voters.

Voters are encouraged to look over their sample ballots and familiarize themselves with the candidates and issues before going to the polls to vote early or on election day to speed up the voting process.

Races on the ballot include governor of Florida, U.S. senator, attorney general, chief financial officer, commissioner of agriculture, state senators for Districts 11, 21 and 23, state representative for Districts 53, 54 and 55, Pasco County District 4 commissioner, justices of the Florida Supreme Court, judges for the Second District Court of Appeals and District 1 Pasco County School Board member.

In addition, Pasco voters will decide whether to approve a referendum to levy a 1-cent sales surtax from 2025 to 2039 with 45 percent of the proceeds going to school construction and improvements; 45 percent going to the Pasco County government for job creation and economic development, public safety, acquiring environmentally sensitive lands, parks and recreation and transportation; and 10 percent going to the incorporated cities of New Port Richey, Port Richey, Dade City and Zephyrhills.

There will also be three constitutional amendments on the ballot:

An amendment to the state constitution to exclude flooding improvements to the value of a property.

An amendment to the state constitution to abolish the constitution revision commission, which meets every 20 years.

And an amendment to grant an additional homestead property tax exemption for classroom teachers, law enforcement and correction officers, firefighters and emergency medical technicians, active-duty military and Florida National Guard members.

Pasco County's accessible sample ballot on the supervisor of elections website is interactive, audio-enabled, multilingual, fully accessible for voters with disabilities and compatible with all major screen readers, tactile switches, closed captioning and sip and puff systems. It allows voters to view and mark an accessible sample ballot and print a reference sheet with their selections.
