State Road 52 Lanes ‘Buckle’ After Water Main Break
Motorists may want to avoid a stretch of State Road 52 Thursday after a water main break caused lanes to buckle.

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL — Pasco County is advising motorists that a stretch of State Road 52 is off limits following a water main break in New Port Richey that caused a portion of the roadway to buckle Thursday afternoon.
According to the county, the break occurred about a half-mile west of Little Road. The break, however, is being linked to buckling that occurred on two westbound lanes of State Road 52.

As a result of the incident, two westbound lanes of State Road 52 near Little Road are closed with traffic reduced to one lane. Eastbound lanes were open as of 5:11 p.m. July 20, the county reported.
The water main break has been isolated and repairs are under way. How long it might take to repair the road remains under investigation.
