Summer Camp Registration Under Way in New Port Richey

Registration for New Port Richey residents began March 11 and registration for nonresidents begins March 18.

It may be March, but it's not too early to start thinking about summer camp.

Once again, the New Port Richey Recreation & Aquatic Center will hold a summer camp program for kids ages 6 to 12 years. The eight-week camp will be held Monday-Friday from 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Camp runs from June 17 – Aug. 9.

“Most years, our summer camp program fills up during the first two weeks of registration, so I encourage parents that are interested to register as early as possible,” said Elaine Smith, parks and recreation director for the City of New Port Richey. “The fun activities we have planned, along with the very reasonable price of the camp, makes our summer camp program very popular.”

Kids will enjoy eight weeks of fun-filled indoor and outdoor activities, including arts and crafts, games, field trips, special events, movies, swimming and more.

Registration began March 11 for city residents and will get under way March 18 for nonresidents. The cost for the full eight weeks of camp is $400 for city residents and $480 for nonresidents. If parents don’t want to take advantage of the full summer program, kids can attend for two weeks for $120 for residents and $140 for nonresidents (must be two consecutive weeks.)
