Teachers to Share District's 'Secret' at Golf Tournament
Sponsorships and players are needed for the upcoming "What is Pasco eSchool?" golf scramble.
Did you know Pasco County has an online school option? Organizers of the “What is Pasco eSchool?” Golf Scramble are working to get the word out about the county’s “best-kept secret” and hope the community will get involved.
The event will kick off with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start August 18 at The Groves Golf and Country Club. Tournament sponsors, hole sponsors, prize and goody bag donations are needed.
And what would a golf tournament be without players teeing it up?

Pasco eSchool is a public K-12 school with full-time and part-time students, tournament coordinator and eSchool teacher Abigail Kennedy said.
The online classes are available to any student in elementary through high school. Some students take all of their classes online, while others may take just one, Kennedy said.

All of the classes are taught by Pasco County teachers. Students take the courses from home or in the learning lab at their regular public school, according to the program’s website.
Teachers are available to eSchool students via phone and email.
The proceeds from the golf tournament will support scholarships for seniors and student recognition programs, Kennedy said.
Player cost is $40, or $160 for a foursome, which includes lunch, contests and prizes.
Hole sponsorships are $100, and tournament sponsorships are $300. Prizes sought include gift certificates and actual items such as golf equipment. Goody bag items needed range from snacks to promotional items from local businesses.
