Wastewater Treatment Facility For New Port Richey Receives Permit
The permit will authorize the city to operate a 7.5 million-gallons-per-day wastewater treatment facility.
NEW PORT RICHEY, FL — The Department of Environmental Protection has issued a draft permit authorizing the city of New Port Richey to operate a 7.5 million-gallons-per-day wastewater treatment facility.
The permit will allow the city to apply 11.7 mgd of reclaimed water to land through a slow-rate public access system and intermittently discharge up to 7.5 mgd of effluent into the Gulf of Mexico via Cross Bayou.
The intermittent discharge of effluent into Cross Bayou is authorized only when the facility influent flow capacity exceeds 8.4 mgd, linked to wet weather conditions.

The facility is located at 4730 Main St., New Port Richey.
