Wave Goodbye to Free Fingerprinting
The Pasco Sheriff's Office is closing the office it provided free fingerprinting at in the Gulf View Square Mall.

Locals will soon have to travel to Central Pasco if they want their fingerprints recorded for free by the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office.
The agency is closing down its community crime prevention office at the Gulf View Square Mall in Port Richey on Aug. 16, and it was one of the few agencies in the area that fingerprinted people for free.
The Sheriff’s Office is moving its staff and the services provided at the office to the community service office at The Shops at Wiregrass, at 28211 Paseo Drive, Wesley Chapel.
The last day free fingerprinting will be offered at the Gulf View Square Mall will be Aug. 14. The service will be provided every Wednesday after then at Wiregrass, and it will still be free.
Pasco Sheriff’s Office Spokesman Kevin Doll said the move to close down the office was an effort to better use the Sheriff’s Office’s resources.
Although the move means the Sheriff’s Office will no longer provide free fingerprinting in the area, locals can find other functions provided by the office at the Sheriff’s Office headquarters at the District 1 station at 7432 Little Road in New Port Richey or District 3 station at 11530 Trinity Blvd., as well as the Sheriff’s Office headquarters in the West Pasco Government Center.
Locals can also find a list of private vendors who provide fingerprinting services at the Florida Department of Law Enforcement’s website.
