Pick A Pumpkin At These Patches In Or Near New Port Richey

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL — Signs of fall are everywhere, from cooler nights to pumpkin spice lattes and a sea of orange pumpkins in front of the grocery store.

But maybe you want the real deal — an actual pumpkin — in your home this season. Whether you’re planning to bake a pie, carve a jack-o’-lantern or just add some festive flair to your stoop, there are plenty of places to pick up a pumpkin near New Port Richey.

Here are a few suggestions:

• HarvestMoon Fun Farm, 15990 Stur Street, Masarkytown will host its annual pumpkin patch and fall activities for six weeks through Nov. 5. It will feature a pumpkin patch, 5-acre corn maze with two mazes, maize-o-poly, a storytime path with Spookley the Square Pumpkin, a Candy Cannon Blast, beer and wine at the Silo Bar, live entertainment with the Moogician and Incredible Mr. Bob, an interactive not-so-scary hay wagon ride, a 70-foot jumping pillow, ball toss, pedal carts, pony hops, a cow train, a hill slide, a petting farm with Nigerian dwarf goats and Kiwi the miniature cow and apple cider slushies. There will be Haunted Trails at Night. It is open Saturdays and Sundays from 10 to 5 p.m. Admission is $15.95 for ages 3 and up during the day. • The North Tampa Bay Chamber 19th Annual Wesley Chapel Fall Festival at Tampa Premium Outlets hosted by Florida Penguin Productions is returning on Oct. 28 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Oct. 29 from 11 to 6 p.m. at the Tampa Premium Outlets in Lutz. Dreamland Amusements Carnival will be on hand with over a dozen rides and carnival games for all ages. There will be more than 30 food trucks, live entertainment, community performances, costume contests, a kids' inflatable fun zone, a pumpkin patch and more. • AFIRE of Pasco Inc. day-training program for adults with disabilities will host its annual pumpkin patch from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily through Oct. 31 at 7540 Ridge Road.
• The Pumpkin Patch at Starkey Market, 3460 Starkey Blvd., New Port Richey, is now open daily with a variety of pumpkins, gourds and other seasonal decorations. The market is open Monday through Wednesday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Thursday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. The market will host an Oktoberfest on Oct. 20 and 21 from 5 to 10 p.m. Click here for tickets.
• Dade City Farms will host a Fall Festival on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Oct. 29. The weekend events will feature a pumpkin patch, hayrides, a corn maze, a kids’ play zone, food trucks and u-pick sunflowers.

You can also have your pick of pumpkins at local farmers markets and produce stands including:

• Dube's Farm and Market at 28523 Sonny Drive, Wesley Chapel, open Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Spring Hill Farmers Market, 3021 Commercial Way, Spring Hill, every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Tasty Tuesdays Community Market runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Tuesday at the New Port Richey Public Library, 5939 Main St., New Port Richey.
• Wright’s Farmers Market, 5800 Main St., New Port Richey, runs seasonally on the second and fourth Sunday of each month from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Wright's Natural Market.
• Farmnet’s Last Saturday Market is held the last Saturday of the month from noon to 2 p.m. at Rose's Bistro at the corner of The next market is Saturday, Oct. 29.
