Woman Attempts to Run Over Pasco Sheriff's Deputy During Pursuit: Deputies

PORT RICHEY, FL - A woman attempted to run over a Pasco sheriff's deputy during a pursuit Saturday morning and while fleeing, deputies say, she was spotted eating pills and throwing what was believed to be narcotics from her vehicle window, deputies said. She was arrested after she lost control of her vehicle, striking the bumper of a deputy's vehicle, according to a sheriff's office press release.

Deputies arrested Nichole Elizabeth Lester, 34, and charged her with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer, fleeing to elude with disregard for safety, resisting arrest without violence and tampering with evidence, possession of opiates, possession of ephedrine, possession of marijuana (less than 20 grams) and four counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Lester was transported to a local hospital to receive treatment for ingesting pills, deputies said. The sheriff's office had received information that the woman was selling narcotics as well as driving on a suspended license. When they attempted to make a traffic stop, she began to flee, deputies said.

The woman attempted to hit the deputy after stop sticks were deployed during the pursuit. The pursuit ended at the intersection of Mark Twain Lane and Fox Hollow Drive.

Two stun guns were discovered in her vehicle with one being disguised as a flashlight.
