Woman Found Floating in Gulf Harbors Canal Identified

Pasco County Sheriff’s deputies have identified the body found floating in  a canal around 5003 Forecastle Drive as 76-year-old Vickie Petrakis, of 2624 Tottenham Drive.

Petrakis’ husband discovered the body Monday morning, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Preliminary investigation shows that a friend had called the husband and told him the couples’ vehicle was parked in the Forecastle Drive area. After he arrived, he searched the area and found the wife’s body floating in the canal.  

The husband discovered the body at 11:40 a.m., and Pasco Fire Rescue pronounced Petrakis decesed at 11:52 p.m.

The Sheriff’s Office has opened a death investigation. At this time, there is no foul play suspected.
