Woman Shot In Domestic Dispute In New Port Richey: Pasco Sheriff

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL — The Pasco County Sheriff's Office has arrested a 53-year-old man accused of shooting a woman in New Port Richey during a domestic dispute, the sheriff's office said.

The shooting occurred at about 9:20 p.m. Thursday at 7250 Plathe Road near the intersection of Rowan Road, according to the sheriff's office.

The victim told deputies that she and Heath Perry were sitting in a travel trailer drinking when she said he began calling her names. He then pushed her and the victim said she pushed him back. He pushed her again and she fell to the floor. She told deputies he then grabbed a 9 mm handgun and shot her twice as she lay on the floor.

Naked and bleeding form the chest, she ran out of the trailer and flagged down a driver passing by. The driver called 911 and she was taken to Bayonet Point Medical Center is critical but stable condition where she is expected to survive.

The sheriff's office arrested Perry and charged him with attempted homicide.
